Push The Boat Out
With Sidmouth Sailing Club

poster

Sidmouth Sailing Club is keen to introduce more people to the world of sailing. We want to show that sailing is accessible, fun and inexpensive. On Saturday 19th May, we are taking part in the RYA’s Push The Boat Out initiative. We are inviting members of the public to come and join us at the club and see what we have on offer. The Club, situated on the eastern end of the Esplanade, will be open to the public from 10am until 4pm.

We will be putting on free 30-minute sailing taster sessions in dinghies (age 10+) and some sessions in RIBs. Other activities will include shore-based displays, a knot tying and Nautical Treasure Hunt. The galley and bar will be open for food and drinks all day.

For on-the-water activities, we recommend beginners wear a wet-suit and suitable footwear. We appreciate not everyone will have a wet-suit and suggest that those who don’t use sportswear, such as tracksuit bottoms/leggings and a rugby style top with a wind-break, over swimwear. In the event of getting wet, a change of clothing will be essential! We aim to have some spare wetsuits but cannot guarantee what sizes will be available.
