The weather station is located above the race office at a height of approximately 10 m above ground level and operates during the sailing season (March–November). Wind speed and direction are thought to be reasonably accurate, but the cliffs to the East and the valley to the North are known to cause some localised effects. Reported wind speeds may be higher or lower than those at sea.
